HuddleWatch Connector, step by step

The connector is a small browser extension that links what you already have open, your ESPN sign-in, your Yahoo league, or any ESPN, Yahoo or Sleeper draft room, to your HuddleWatch account. It runs on a desktop browser only. Once a league is linked, your phone sees it too.

1 · Choose your browser

Install in the same desktop browser and profile where you use HuddleWatch and your fantasy account. Chrome installs it from the Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge from Microsoft Edge Add-ons, and Firefox from Firefox Add-ons, each in one click.

  1. Open the Chrome Web Store listing and choose Add to Chrome, then Add extension.
  2. Reload HuddleWatch and your fantasy-platform tabs. Chrome keeps the connector up to date on its own.

Install by hand: the latest build

The store copy can lag behind while reviews are pending. The manual download below is version 3.0.54. Manual installations must be updated by hand.

New in 3.0.54: fixes league discovery after connecting, adds clearer retry messages, and collects Yahoo completed-week actual points for loaded players. History imports stay separate from your current roster.

Chrome or Edge

  1. If the store version is installed, remove it first (two copies fight over the same pages).
  2. Extract the ZIP to a folder you will keep, for example Documents.
  3. Open chrome://extensions (Edge: edge://extensions) and turn on Developer mode.
  4. Choose Load unpacked and pick the extracted huddlewatch-connector-chrome folder.
  5. Reload HuddleWatch and your fantasy-platform tabs.

Firefox 140+

  1. Extract the ZIP.
  2. Open about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox.
  3. Choose Load Temporary Add-on and select manifest.json inside the extracted folder.
  4. Reload HuddleWatch and your fantasy-platform tabs. Firefox removes temporary add-ons when it restarts, so repeat after a restart.

Updating a hand install

  1. Hand installs do not update themselves. When HuddleWatch shows a newer version here, download it again.
  2. Replace the files in the same folder, then click Reload on the connector's card on the extensions page.
  3. Reload your tabs. Settings are retained, including AutoSwap and any picks you armed.

Return to Manage Leagues

Use Check connector there. It checks this browser without sending you back here. An extension installed in Firefox cannot be detected in Chrome or this app's built-in browser.

Sleeper drafts: sign in and choose a seat in the Sleeper room before drafting from HuddleWatch. Being signed in without a seat does not grant permission to make picks.

What works without the connector, and what needs it

Sleeper and public ESPN leagues need nothing installed. Yahoo needs the connector for everything, and every live draft room needs it on every platform.

Yahoo has no public-league access and its Fantasy Sports API has not yet granted HuddleWatch league access, so a Yahoo league cannot appear at all until the connector reads it from your signed-in Yahoo tab. When Yahoo approves the API, Yahoo leagues will connect with a sign-in and nothing installed.

2 · Sign in to HuddleWatch in that browser

Everything the connector sends goes to the HuddleWatch account signed in on the same browser. Sign in first, on whichever HuddleWatch address you use, then move on. If you are not signed in, the connector reports "not signed in" and sends nothing.

3 · ESPN: connect your account

  1. Sign in at espn.com if you are not already.
  2. Open your Leagues page on HuddleWatch and reload it. The ESPN button reads Connect ESPN.
  3. Click it. A small connector window opens. Click Allow ESPN connection.
  4. Your ESPN leagues appear. Add the ones you want and pick your team.

The connector reads ESPN's two sign-in cookies only after you click Allow, and sends them to your account so HuddleWatch can read your leagues from then on, phone included. Your password is never involved. If ESPN signs you out, sign in there again and click Connect ESPN once more. No connector? A public ESPN league can be added on Manage leagues by pasting its link. That is read only: HuddleWatch shows your best lineup but cannot send changes to ESPN for you.

4 · Yahoo: link a league

  1. In the same browser, sign in at football.fantasysports.yahoo.com. The Open Yahoo Fantasy button on Manage leagues opens it in its own window. Your football leagues list themselves on HuddleWatch within a few seconds; then open a league's page on Yahoo so its rosters and matchups load.
  2. Within a few seconds a small HuddleWatch note appears at the bottom right of the Yahoo page. It says the league was sent, or names the problem.
  3. Open your Leagues page on HuddleWatch. The league is listed under Yahoo. Click Add.
  4. Open your call sheet. The status line reads "Read from your Yahoo tab by the connector" with the time.

Weekly history: keep your Yahoo league tab open until the banner says weekly history saved, then refresh your call sheet. If it reports partly unavailable, let it retry; missing history is not a confirmed zero. These are completed-week actual points, not historical projections.

The connector re-reads the league every five minutes while the Yahoo tab stays open, and the call sheet keeps the last read after you close it. This league-data import sends league data to your account, not your Yahoo password. If you separately enable server AutoSwap, its saved-sign-in authorization also applies. Lineup changes you confirm on HuddleWatch are sent from that Yahoo tab and checked on Yahoo before we call them done. Yahoo's API approval, when it comes, removes this step.

5 · Draft with DraftAid Connect: ESPN, Yahoo or Sleeper

  1. Enter your draft room, mock or league, on ESPN, Yahoo or Sleeper in the same browser, signed in to that platform.
  2. Open DraftAid Connect in another tab. Green pills confirm the connector and, once connected, the room link.
  3. Paste the room's address from the address bar and click Connect room.
  4. The banner shows which platform you are on and the board fills with the clock, the pick order, every pick, projected standings and recommendations. On your turn the Draft buttons go live, or switch on Auto-Pick and DraftAid takes your top suggestion the moment the room allows it. Your pick goes out on the room's own connection and the platform confirms it on both screens.

Keep the room tab open for the whole draft. The connector never opens a second connection to the platform; it mirrors the one the room already has.

Public ESPN leagues can be linked by their league URL for read-only tracking. Sleeper leagues connect by username with no extension. Yahoo leagues and every live draft room need the connector. Questions: send a support ticket.
